De Soto National Memorial

De Soto National Memorial offers an award-winning Junior Ranger program throughout the year. While visiting the park, your Junior Ranger will receive an activity book, pencil, and compass to get them started. Junior Rangers will learn about the De Soto expedition and the Native American people as they are guided around the park. Junior Rangers must complete six activities, as well as the map activity within the book. This program will take you through the pristine park, giving you a glimpse into what the Florida coast was like many centuries ago.

The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature

The Bishop is the largest natural and cultural history museum on Florida’s Gulf Coast. You’ll find engaging exhibits featuring artifacts, fossils, history of native peoples—and even some lovable rescue manatees. The Bishop’s Planetarium is a remarkable astronomy education resource, allowing you to explore the universe through immersive virtual journeys to the far reaches of the cosmos. It’s new state-of-the-art projection system and software is 1½ times brighter than Bishop’s previous system and has four times the contrast. Plan to spend most of your day at the Bishop, especially since you’ll want to see a show in the planetarium and go hands-on in The Backyard Universe.

Manatee County Agricultural Museum

The Bradenton Area has deep roots in the agricultural industry, and it still plays a vital role in Florida’s agriculture today. This rich farming heritage is celebrated at the Manatee County Agricultural Museum in Palmetto, where you can explore the historical achievements of local farmers with hands-on exhibits that educate and entertain. The museum’s Agricultural Hall of Fame honors local agriculturalists who have made a great impact on the community.

The NEST at Robinson Preserve

The NEST (short for Nature, Exploration, Science and Technology) is a fantastic way to experience a panoramic view of Robinson Preserve. But it’s more than just a spectacular vantage point, this place was constructed with an educational purpose. The NEST is a classroom and event space that’s ripe for learning through hands-on programming designed for all ages. While you’re here, don’t miss the Canopy Zone where you can crawl and climb among the treetops. This two-story structure is filled with unique elements, like boardwalks, rope bridges, climbing nets, and slides.
