Is it safe to visit the Bradenton Area? How will I know when it’s safe to visit?
Most of the Bradenton Area’s mainland attractions such as museums, restaurants, parks and preserves are already back open. Downtown Bradenton’s many hotels, restaurants, attractions and small businesses are well-positioned to delight visitors with many popular spots currently open.
Our barrier island communities on Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key are open to all traffic with the vast majority of unique shopping options, world-class cuisine, iconic beaches and relaxing accommodations available to enjoy.
What can I do in the Bradenton Area besides Anna Maria Island or Longboat Key?
Attractions like the Bishop Museum of Science and Nature and businesses within Village of the Arts are open. The beloved Bradenton Public Market resumed operations Saturday, October 19.
Anna Maria Island’s turquoise waters and sugar-sand white beaches are open for an unforgettable beach-day experience.
All Bradenton Area nature preserves, except for Leffis Key on Anna Maria Island and De Soto National Memorial, are open. This includes popular preserves like Emerson Point and Robinson Nature Preserve.

Yes, our sand is ready for you! Our beach sand has been carefully cleaned and sifted, ensuring it’s safe for relaxing, castle-building, and all your favorite beach activities.
