Keeping Cool at The Crosley
Summertime in Florida can be HOT, and sometimes being outside for too long is just a hard NO. But that doesn’t mean wedding season is over. Fortunately, the Powel Crosley Estate is the perfect venue for keeping cool in the summer – inside and out. Here are our top tips for keeping cool at the Crosley this summer.
Keeping Cool Outside
Tented events are a common occurrence at the Powel Crosley Estate. Many couples opt for a large tent on the Lawn so that guests can enjoy the reception without breaking a sweat. Your caterer can help you select a tent that can suit any event style or design. Tents are especially helpful in the summer when the temperatures rise and rain falls more frequently.
Many tents can also accommodate for temporary ACs and spot coolers that hook directly into the tent, cooling down the temporary structure almost instantly. You’d almost completely forget you’re outside if it weren’t for those stunning water views of Sarasota Bay.
Cooling Down Inside
And while shelters and fans can make a huge difference when it comes to combating the Florida heat, there’s nothing quite like being inside in the air conditioning. The Powel Crosley Estate features 2,000+ square feet on the first floor that’s sure to keep you and your guests cool all evening long.
In the summer months it’s very common for couples to opt for a quick outdoor ceremony and then move inside for the reception. The Great Room on the first floor can accommodate up to 80-90 guests banquet style, depending on your chosen table set up; it is also large enough to accommodate a ceremony up to 140. The Dining room, which connects directly to the Great Room, can accommodate for another 40-48 guests banquet style. For an event with a smaller guest count, the Library is a terrific ceremony option and can accommodate up to 70 guests. Each space is on the first floor, so flowing from one large room to another is a breeze.
The Crosley also features a gorgeous second story, where its Mediterranean-inspired elegance continues. Many couples will take advantage of the upstairs space to create cozy seating areas for their guests to relax and enjoy the evening in the air-conditioned space.
The covered balcony at the back of the estate is also a favorite for couples. This area is a perfect, shady area for photo ops, sunset watching or just relaxing while the evening winds down.
