Are the beaches open?
Manatee Public beach has reopened. We anticipate Coquina Beach is welcoming back beachgoers in the near future and the entire seven-mile stretch of sugar-white sand beaches of Anna Maria Island open to everyone within the next 30 days.
Is the Airport open?
Sarasota Bradenton International Airport is open to all commercial service airline flights. You can find the latest airport information at flysrq.com. Tampa International Airport is fully operational.
Is it safe to visit the Bradenton Area? How will I know when it’s safe to visit?
Many of the Bradenton Area’s mainland attractions are already back open. Downtown Bradenton’s many hotels, restaurants, attractions and small businesses are well-positioned to begin receiving visitors and most popular spots are currently open thanks to the quick response to restore power. Clean-up efforts on the barrier islands are going extremely well with several businesses already open and many anticipating being open within the next 30 days.
What can I do in the Bradenton Area besides Anna Maria Island or Longboat Key?
Attractions like the Bishop Museum of Science and Nature and businesses within Village of the Arts are open. The beloved Bradenton Public Market resumed operations Saturday, October 19. Clean-up efforts on the barrier islands are going extremely well with several businesses anticipating being open within the next 30 days. All Manatee County nature preserves, except for Leffis Key on Anna Maria Island, are open. This includes popular preserves like Emerson Point and Robinson Nature Preserve.
Can I access Anna Maria Island and/or Longboat Key?
Our barrier island communities are open to all traffic.

How do I find out if my hotel or vacation rental is still booked? Can I get a refund if my stay was impacted?
Please contact your rental property management company, hotel or accommodation partner for more information. Short-term rental companies on the barrier islands are beginning to come online, and we anticipate a good percentage to be available to rent within 2-to-3 weeks. As we receive regular updates from our leisure partners on the barrier islands, we’re reassuring visitors with post-Thanksgiving reservations to keep their plans intact. Visitors who had planned vacations to Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key are encouraged to reach out to their rental property management company, hotel or accommodation partner as well as their travel insurance provider (if applicable) for more information regarding refunds on planned stays.
Is it safe to swim at your beaches?
The Florida Department of Health routinely monitors beach water samples and has determined our water to be safe to enjoy. However, beach-goers should always remember to check the lifeguard’s station flag for the daily surf conditions.
Is the sand safe to walk on?
Yes, our sand is safe to relax on and make castles with at all open public beaches! Beach renourishment is complete and it has been deemed safe for visitors.
