Unique Photo Spots at the Powel Crosley Estate
Planning a wedding at the Powel Crosley Estate? Congratulations! You’re getting married at one of the most stunning wedding venues on the west coast of Florida. And while you may think you have a vision for the perfect wedding photos, The Powel Crosley Estate may still find ways to surprise you. Here are some under-used yet super gorgeous spots for wedding photos you should know about before you say “I Do.”
The Boat Basin
You already know that The Powel Crosley Estate sits at the edge of the sparkling Sarasota Bay, but did you know that it also hosts a large boat basin on the north end of its waterfront? While not everyone will choose to arrive by boat it’s worth taking a look at the area (including the stairs and the basin itself) for some unique photos for your wedding album.

The Long Driveway
Taking your wedding photos in a driveway may sound strange but trust us – they turn out absolutely beautiful. The Powel Crosley Estate is surrounded with lush Florida flora from the end of its driveway all the way to the edge of its bayfront. When taking your wedding photos, be sure to check out the beautiful green trees and plants that will give you a more natural look for variety in your photos.
The Interior Staircase
The outside of the Powel Crosley Estate is beautiful, and the colorful Florida sunset may make you inclined to do most of your photography outside. However, don’t overlook the interior of the Estate. In the Great Room is the main staircase that leads to the second floor of the mansion – and it is stunning. The different levels give your photographer unique options for angles, lighting and depth of field that will give your wedding photos a fun variety.
Exterior Windows
The Powel Crosley Estate is a stunning Mediterranean revival mansion with details that are simply not found in modern architecture. And one of the best ways to show off its gorgeous details is by photographing it from the outside. Grab your new spouse or wedding party and open the windows to get some fresh air – and some seriously cool photos.
The Portico
While it may function as an overhang area for new arrivals to your event, the portico on the front face of the Powel Crosley Estate provides the perfect opportunity for wedding photos that show off the unique characteristics of your venue. Its wide arches create a subtle frame for your couples photos, and are wide enough to include the whole wedding party.
