Presenting…Somewhere on Florida’s West Coast
They’re legends of the Pittsburgh airwaves, well-known names in the hockey sphere, and…travel buddies?! That’s right, KDKA radio announcer Larry Richert and former Penguins player-turned-broadcaster Phil Bourque teamed up to explore Bradenton, Florida – Pittsburgh’s sister city – and the nearby beach communities of Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key.
Episode 1: Paradise Off the Ice
Larry and Phil hit the beach to enjoy some fun in the sun before heading over to one of the area’s many breathtaking nature preserves for a little outdoor exploration. There’s only one problem…views like these make it really hard to go home!
Episode 2: Floribbean Cuisine at Its Best
Outdoor dining right on the beach. Fresh seafood caught just hours or even minutes before. After experiencing the local food scene, Phil is left wondering “if it gets any better than this.” (It doesn’t.)
Episode 3: “Dahntahn” Is the Place to Be
The duo makes some unexpected discoveries in downtown Bradenton as they stroll along the Manatee River, sample their way through the local farmers market, and explore the wonderfully eclectic Village of the Arts community.
Episode 4: Beyond the Beach
Phil and Larry quickly realize that the Bradenton Area has so much more to offer than its world-famous beaches – especially for families with kids looking to make lasting memories together.
