With an impressive view of the historic Manatee River, Whisky Joe’s should be high on the list of all al fresco fans. The laid-back vibe is in perfect harmony with the thatched palapas, white sand, and warm firepit that’s lit every evening. Ugly Grouper

Don’t let the name fool you, there’s nothing ugly about the Ugly Grouper. This family-friendly establishment features games, live music, and fresh seafood. With ring toss, giant Jenga and cornhole, you’ll have no trouble keeping the kiddos entertained while waiting for your made-to-order meal. Speaking of meals, this is the place to grab some of the freshest seafood around—be sure to try their grouper tacos or famous grouper sandwich. Not into seafood? Seafood Shack

Anything but a shack, the Seafood Shack is next door to the historic fishing village of Cortez, so you know there is fine seafood to be found.
